    Guest chefs Sonny Jorges Almandres and Michael Licas Macatiag from Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Manila and Paul Samonte from Traders Hotel, Manila will prepare special Filipino dishes.

    Aside from culinary delights, guests can discover more about the country's culture through dance and music performances by The Bayanihan, the Philippines' multi-awarded national dance company.  The Bayanihan will demonstrate the Filipino's love for the arts through emotionally intoxicating dance movements and forms at SATOO from 20 to 25 April 2013.

    Guests may also win exciting prizes while enjoying the delectable cuisines, such as a 3-night stay in the Garden Deluxe Room at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila including return tickets from Jakarta to Manila courtesy of Cebu Pacific Air and also a 3-night stay at Traders Hotel, Manila.

    With more than 7,000 islands and a colourful history, the Philippines enjoys a rich range of delicious dishes all its own.  Its cooking style and the food associated with it have evolved over many centuries from its origins to a mixed cuisine of Malay, Spanish, Chinese and American.  Filipino cuisine also includes other Asian and Latin influences adapted to indigenous ingredients and the local palate.

    Filipino food has a deep and complex taste that is described as linamnam.  Literally meaning "deliciousness", yet signifying much more, it is the root word for malinamnam, which is how a Filipino might describe the tastiness and aroma of a dish.

    Guests can enjoy SATOO's selection of the Philippines' best dishes.  For appetizers, guests can delight in unique salads such as Kilawing Lapu Lapu, Lumpiang Ubod, Silken Tofu with Prawns, Fiddle Head Fern Salad, and Pomelo and Turnip Salad with Dried Anchovy and Sprouts.

    For the main course, guests can try Seafood Sinigang, Tinolang Manok, Beef Kaldareta, Bulalo Royale, Cod Fish Bacalao, Braised Beef Morcon, Chicken Adobo sa Gata, Salmon Belly sa Miso, Chicken Binakol and Sweet Shrimp Ukoy.

    The Philippines also has traditional noodle dishes called Pancit.  At SATOO, guests can savour Pancit Bihon Guisado, Pancit Miki Bihon, Pancit Palabok and Pancit Lomi.

    The restaurant will also set up a special section for the archipelago's favourite pork dishes such as Stuffed Lechon de Leche, Crispy Pork Belly, Pork Binagoongan, Crusted Pork Estufado, Crispy Pata, Pochero and Pork Knuckle Humba.

    The Filipino dessert options should not be missed as well.  To complete the Philippines' culinary journey, guests can relish Halo-Halo, Pili Nut Cake, Leche Flan Cake, Barako Panna Cotta, Brazo de Mercedes, Pastillas de Leche and Yema.
