Highlighting the venue tag line "Let Your Inside Out," guests were invited to wear chic and fabulous clothing that best reflected their inner self. Six models escorted guests upon arrival along the torch-lit garden to the party venue. For the evening, SATOO Garden was transformed into an uber-hip lounge with sophisticated lighting that created an in vogue ambience and from afar made the venue look like a purple jewel.
Five special food stations representing SATOO's signature open kitchen buffet were set up to delight the guests' appetite. SATOO Restaurant Indian Chef Kuldeep Singh presented home-made Pakora and mini Dosai on his station. Roast Spanish Pork Belly with Special Sauce was served at the Chinese station, and Chef Ishimaru Shingo prepared a range of creative sushi and California rolls. In the garden, an outdoor Indonesian stall was set up to serve traditional Balinese Satay Lilit along with Lamb Satay and condiments. Alex Hekimov, the hotel’s executive pastry chef, offered Luwak Coffee Creme Brulee and assorted home-made gelatos at the dessert station.
As the night rolled on, guests were busy mingling while enjoying the range of food from the stations and pass-around canapés, and also special cocktails and mocktails prepared by Aldrin Willem, the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta head barman. The hotel's corporate guests, long-stay guests and media friends attended the party. Adding merriment to the event was an acoustic band and, later that night, DJ Buddy Mack livened up the atmosphere with his dynamic rhythm.
SATOO Garden offers a semi-outdoor, hip and chic place to see and be seen in style. With a view of the hotel’s lush garden and butterfly-shaped pool, it is the perfect place for guests to relax and unwind while enjoying the surroundings. The venue offers all day dining and, as an extension of SATOO restaurant, offers an open-kitchen international buffet during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
