Pancious, Pancake is delicious

This is what happens when you give pancakes a mind of their own. The result is a restaurant that serves any kind of pancakes you could probably imagine. Not that we’re complaining, though. by Dina Indrasafitri - Ponco / November 4, 2007

Many people can’t get enough of pancakes. The more you stack them sizzling hot dribbling with melted butter, the more we are obliged to gobble them all up. Pancake feels like home and Sundays.

Thus, a restaurant that specializes itself as a Pancake house is definitely going to turn heads. What more can you make of pancakes? Sure, some like it plain with just a spread of butter, some like it with maple syrup, but those alone are good, safe options, right?

Apparently not, answers Pancious. This delightful restaurant offers tons of pancakes for every meal of the day. Waving away the ‘breakfast only’ concept of Pancake-eating, we would be driven to believe that any time is pancake time.

One thing hasn’t changed, though, pancakes are synonymous with the warmth of a family meal. Thus, this restaurant’s décor is thick with promises of family fun.
Red and black dominates the setting, while comfy sofas and an outdoor dining section with a swimming pool in the middle ensure you of a session of leisurely dining with loved ones.

When your main course consist of pancakes, then what do you order for appetizers? That’s easy, you can go for the home-style grilled Baby Potato or the unique Pineapple Meatball. Both provide a satisfying start to your meal.

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of pancake you can find in this pancake funhouse, based on the topping: the sweet and the savory. Several sweet options are Mocca, Berry, Mango, Almond and Sweet Platter pancakes. Each of these comes in a stack of twos with a scoop of ice cream to top it up. The Mango Pancake is particularly a winner. The sight of thick pancakes smothered in Mango sauce and decorated with slices of fresh mango is slightly peculiar, yet challenging. And the taste does not disappoint, for the sweet, cool ice cream combines quite well with the mango’s tangy sweetness.

However, remember that the ice cream melts fairly quickly, and unless you’re into soggy pancakes then you’d better not dawdle. That’s what mom always told you, right?

If you don’t have a sweet tooth, the savory options might be a better pick. For example, there are the Bolognaise and Kung Pao Chicken Pancakes-constant favorites, really! And there’s also the Rendang Beef Pancake, and Savory Platter. These are usually served with fresh salad as a side dish. The conservatives are also very welcomed here, for Pancious offers the traditional Full Breakfast Menu: Pancakes with butter, sausages, salami and scrambled eggs.

Pancious is also quite aware that people can get tired of pancakes at some point, thus you can always replace each pancake item in the menu with waffles. And there are also other menu items such as pastas and burgers that are certainly not to be sniffed at either.

Pancious succeeds in reincarnating the magic of pancakes. Although it could never replace those happy Sunday mornings, it’s certainly a fine substitute. And yes, we are convinced that any time could be pancake time. It’s plainly acceptable when they’re so delicious. (SG/DI) Pancious Pancake House

Too heavy, the pancake and the sauce cream. I'd rather to choose single than double.

1. There is nothing special about the pancake;
2. You MUST order the Grilled Baby Potato;
3. The table was not convenient for your legs to swing around.

There is no dignity in the bean. Corn, with no affection of superiority, is, however the child of song. It waves in all literature. But mix it with beans and its high tone is gone. Succotash is vulgar.
