ZOE Cafe: Zone of Education and Entertainment

Once upon a time (you will find out soon why the opening line is irresistible for this matter), there lived a family who loves to read. Everything from novels and comic books were stacked up in precious piles inside their abode.
They weren’t the only ones, though. Many found comfort in curling up with a good book. However, there weren’t enough places to do this. Most bookstores ran a search-find-pay system. So the family decided to open a place where people could sit and read peacefully and this idea also allows them to share their collection of knowledge to others.
To say that the ZOE bookstore /rental was a success would be an understatement. People loved the idea of another place to rent or buy books, and soon the place was filled to the brim with eager readers. Such who could sit all day reading and find it slightly annoying that they would have to get out every once in a while to pick up something to eat or drink, so naturally, practical snacks and drinks were provided in the place.
That was a tale from Bandung. But the ZOE café in Margonda, Depok, has a slightly different style. Its collection of books certainly doesn’t betray the name (ZOE stands for Zone of Education and Entertainment), but the Depok version adds extra touches of gourmet and style. Here, not only you’ll find marvelous and often rare books, but also a chic hangout with meticulously prepared food.
The tropical garden setting in which dark wooden interiors form ZOE café, a sanctuary from the heat of Margonda traffic, creates a cozy, shady atmosphere. The entrance path, will lead you straight to the book collections, while to the left is the café zone.
Menu items include popular Indonesian, Asian and Western along with a few of ZOE’s specialties. The chef is a gentleman with admirable experiences in the culinary field and prepares each dish with expertise.
Sample the Salmon Benedict and not only you will be surprised by its attractive appearance but also the mild, undisturbed flavor of Salmon combined with the tang of balsamic salad and a little sweetness from the barbeque sauce. Meanwhile, the Char Grilled Imported Beef Tenderloin is quite a decent steak indeed, the juicy beef flavor softened by the delicate flavor of cream spinach and asparagus.
Another masculine option is the signature Zoe Red Hot Ribs which comes complete with vegetable kebab and mashed potato. Very American indeed, but the spicy flavor adds distinctive Indonesian touch which mixes surprisingly well with the cream cheese sauce.
One of the good things here is that when you finished eating, there’s still so much more you can do. From exploring the bookshelves, delving into the internet, or perhaps watch the live band. With such complete options, ZOE cafe is certainly ready to go beyond bookworms. (DI/SG) ZOE Cafe & Library

Totally ZOe itu tempat hang out yang Okay banget buat gue, secara gue doyan baca and makan (hehehehe)
komen gue yang pertama buat librarynye , okay banget jarang ada buku yang gak ada disitu, kecuali buku pelajaran dari debdikbud kali yee (hehehehehe), harganya normal and termasuk murah, suka dapet discount pula...
and jangan lupa bazarnye yg bikin pusing, abis discount buku dari 50% mpe 70%, dah emosi and napsu aje buat borong novel kesukaan gue.

komen gue yang kedua , cafenye cozzy banget (kata anak gaul), lebih keren zoe yang di Depok dari yang di Bandung, cause lebih ke hangoutnye kayaknyeee..
makanannye lumayan komlit dari yang Asia, kayak seafoodnye, western dengan BBQ Chicken wings or Steak and Pizzaa (YUMMMYYY banget, tipis and lumer dimulut and SO HOT !!!!), trus kalo laper banget ada nasi juga karena gue orang Indonesia asli yang kalo laper blom apdol kalo blm makan nasi (hehehe), ada sop buntut bakar (kesukaan nyokap gue, and kudu dibungkus bawa pulang kalo mampir di zoe), trus nasi goreng seh jangan ditanya, and ada nasi campur bali, trus soto bandung, trus ayam bakar betutu, (gue kayak waiternyee yeee, wekekekeke) ueeenaaak and Mak Nyossss !!! ( biar dapet discount dari Zoe !!) apalagi kalo laper mpe bening deh tuh piring !!
Minumannye, gue kalo pesen ganti2, abis banyak pilihan, jadi pengen tahu rasa semuanye, kecuali coffee, gue gak suka !!!
Sukses terus yeee...
and ditunggu cabang laennye, terutama di BOGOR !!!
Sebenernya biasanya gw santai2 aja disini. tempat ini lumayan buat nyari suasana yang emang lumayan. tapi kemaren gw terakhir kesana dan kecewa banget banget banget!!
gw pesen zuppa soup (disini namanya zuppa fiesta) tapi nunggu sampe SATU JAM dan belum dateng2. dan mbak2nya gak minta maaf ato apa gitu ngasi tau kek kalo emang si zuppa soup itu bakalan lama. gw dibiarin aja, sampe pas akhirnya gw tanya, jawabannya "iya emang agak lama, soalnya kan harus dioven dulu"
gw bukan pertama kali ya mbak makan zuppa soup dan gw tau itu emang dioven dulu, tapi baru pertama kalinya gw nunggu ovenan zuppa soup selama itu. sambil nunggu akhirnya gw pesen lasagna, tapi beberapa menit kemudian mas2nya balik lagi dan bilang kalo lasagna-nya gak ada. kok bisa sih! akhirnya sih gw nambah pesen fettucini.
kembali ke zuppa soup, pas akhirnya dia dateng, penampilannya mengecewakan banget. rotinya gak ngembang sama sekali. gak menarik banget deh. dan pas gw rasain, rasanya juga biasa banget, cenderung hambar! 6 out of 10 lah.
kecewa banget gw sama zoe. gimana ini zoe, saya kecewa banget!

pas duduk,waitersnya ramah2..
da gitu ada WiFi yg kenceng koneksinya lagi..
kmaren pas kesana mesen chef recommended yaitu Isabela aseli malay kalo kata waiternya,hehehe..
iga sapi bakar lada hitam bumbunya berani..kerasa bgt ladanya..
trus temen gw mesen sop buntut bakar..dan rasanya manstab..
yg gw kagum bgt tuh,dagingnya empuuk bgt..n pas masuk mulut kita g usah susah2 ngunyahnya..
karena letaknya di jalan margonda,untuk ke ZOEnya butuh perjuangan neh..coz jalanan macet bgt..secara gw kesana malem minggu juga gitu..n agak2 susah parkirannya..
but overall gw puas bgt c makan di zoe..
laen kali kesana skalian baca2 buku aah,coz kmaren g sempet minjem buku..
hehe..
Saya suka sekali berada di sini karena bisa menjadi tempat belajar yang nyaman. Suasananya yang di pinggir jalan raya namun tidak terllau bising karena suasananya yang asri dengan pohon serta tanaman di tengah-tengah membuat ZOE tidak berasa terlalu panas di tengah Depok yang mataharinya menyengat ini.
Selain itu, bisa baca buku dan hotspotan sepanjang hari. Harga makanannya juga relatif standar dan saya suka sekali dengan Russian Tea-nya.
